High Hotels Champions Sustainability
In a powerful demonstration of environmental responsibility and community care, High Hotels is turning hotel renovations into opportunities for meaningful change. Through a thoughtful and sustainable initiative, the company is repurposed furniture, bedding, and fixtures from their properties, transforming what could have been wasted into valuable resources for those in need.
Giving New Life to Old Furnishings
As part of ongoing interior renovations at the Hampton Inn in Lancaster, PA and SpringHill Suites in Mt. Laurel, NJ, High Hotels has partnered with local organizations to donate the hotel’s furnishings. This includes everything from TVs and mattresses to bedding and living room amenities.
The initiative was led by Gary Raymond, Director of Hospitality Projects, and Adam Marotta, Area Chief Engineer/Special Projects. Their leadership of this initiative has been instrumental in coordinating with nonprofit partners to ensure these items are reused in ways that directly benefit communities.
Partnerships That Make a Difference
Three key organizations have helped bring this vision to life:
- Blessings of Hope, based in Greenfield, PA, transported donated items to North Carolina to help families affected by the devasting floods to rebuild their lives and homes.
- Philadelphia Furniture Bank received furnishings from the Mt. Laurel property, using them to support individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness in the Philadelphia area.
- Pennsylvania Furniture Mission, located in Columbia, PA, has been repurposing mattresses and bedding. Their team carefully steam cleans and prepares each item, ensuring safety and comfort for new recipients.

Sustainability Meets Social Impact
By choosing to repurpose rather than discard, High Hotels is reducing landfill waste and extending life of valuable materials. This initiative not only supports sustainability goals but also uplifts communities, proving that even small changes in business practices can lead to a lasting, positive impact.
“This is more than just a renovation, it’s a chance to give back, to support families, and to do right by the environment.”
A Model for the Industry
High Hotels’ approach serves as a model for how hospitality companies can integrate corporate social responsibility into everyday operation. They are proving that businesses, sustainability and community can go hand and hand.
