A: "Lay down a weld and give good measure" is what our company's founder, Sanford High, told his co-workers in 1931. Q: I saw a red, antique truck at a local event recently, which said "High Welding Company" on the door — any relation?
A: Yes, that is a 1929 REO Speedwagon Truck. When our business was founded in 1931, Sanford High's first company vehicle was a red REO exactly like that one. Sanford's son, Calvin, found this REO for sale, and painstakingly restored it to like-new condition — including the lettering on the door to exactly match what his dad's truck said.
